Caught You Swiping is available for iPhone on the U.S. App Store, from Jorge Ramirez. Choose a few photos, hand over your phone, and turn one swipe too far into a surprise. Requires iOS 17 or later.

For a bug report, include your iPhone model, iOS version, app version, and the steps that caused the problem. Please do not send passwords, verification codes, private photos, or another person’s reaction photo.
Show your photos
Choose up to 30 photos, short videos, or Live Photos, select a surprise, and tap Hand over the phone. The gallery displays only the media you selected. Videos and Live Photo motion start muted; playback controls are separate from gallery swipes. Videos must be no longer than two minutes. Swiping before the first photo or past the last photo reveals your surprise. Caught You Swiping does not lock the whole phone or prevent someone from leaving the app.
Return to setup
Press and hold for two seconds and confirm. If protected exit is enabled, authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode. With VoiceOver, use the gallery’s Back to setup action. This protection applies inside the app, not to the whole phone.
Change the surprise
Return to setup and open Surprise. Preview your choice before handing over your phone. Shuffle needs at least two configured choices. Gentle, Spicy, and Kittens only presets help choose built-in surprises; Gentle does not moderate custom captions or paid-pack content.
Reaction photos
Reaction capture is optional. It requires camera permission and the viewer’s agreement before each handoff. The viewer can continue without a photo. If enabled, the front camera stays visibly active during the gallery and takes one still photo at the first surprise, then stops.
Review reactions inside the app. Share only with the person’s agreement. If the camera is unavailable, the gallery still works without it. You can revoke camera access in iPhone Settings.
Saved sets and one-session mode
Save named photo-and-surprise sets, then load, rename, duplicate, or delete them. Loading a set does not preserve a viewer’s camera agreement. Selected media, their order, settings, and reaction photos stay on this device.
One-session mode clears the current selection and unused app copies when you exit, or on next launch after an interrupted session. Copies still used by named sets and custom surprise artwork are kept. Reaction photos are managed separately. Originals in Photos are never deleted by this feature.
Import from Photos
The Photos share extension prepares selected items for review in Caught You Swiping. Open the app and explicitly add them to your gallery. It does not overwrite the current setup or start a camera. Use the in-app picker to preserve paired Live Photo motion.
Share a reaction card
Open a reaction you have reviewed, choose a caption and portrait format, adjust its crop, and create an export. Then use Share to choose a destination. Cards do not include your original gallery photos. Sharing is optional.
Subscription and upgrade packs
The app is free to download and has no ads. An eligible three-day free trial starts only when you confirm the subscription with Apple. It then renews at $1.99 per month in the U.S. unless cancelled. Apple’s purchase screen shows your local price and trial eligibility before confirmation.
A subscription enables new gallery handoffs. If access expires, your saved-media management, deletion, exports, restore, and subscription-management controls remain available. Upgrade packs are separate $1.99 one-time purchases each in the U.S.; they do not replace the subscription.
Manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple Account subscription settings. Use Restore purchases with the Apple Account that subscribed or bought a pack. The U.S. App Store listing and Apple’s purchase screen show current availability and purchase terms.
